A new two storey building for dance, music and performing arts and the upgrade of existing sports facilities - connected together by a bridge. Community access is enhanced by allowing wider use of the updated facilities. Glazed circulation spaces link the reception area, changing rooms and sports hall. External courts are updated with new surfaces and lighting.
The ground floor music classrooms are divided by acoustic partitions which include a large glazed panel allowing visual dialogue and making it suitable for recording purposes.
The dance/drama studios have double layers of room dividers which allows the open space to become two separate areas. The studios can also transform into a theatre setting as they are equipped with versatile lighting features, black curtains, pivoting screens, a stereo system and faceted walls to deflect sound.
