client: London Borough of Camden Council
A new two storey building for dance, music and performing arts and the upgrade of existing sports facilities - connected together by a bridge. Community access is enhanced by allowing wider use of the updated facilities.
The ground floor music classrooms are divided by acoustic partitions which include a large glazed panel allowing visual dialogue and making it suitable for recording purposes.
The dance/drama studios have double layers of room dividers which allows the open space to become two separate areas. The studios can also transform into a theatre setting as they are equipped with versatile lighting features, black curtains, pivoting screens, a stereo system and faceted walls to deflect sound.
For further information and images of the sports facilities please look in the education section of architecture projects.
